Our Design & Build Process
Welcome
You make contact with us – which ever way suits you best, either a phone call for a friendly chat or an email.
Consultation
The Consultation is a relaxed meet and greet session at our Office and Design Showroom, where you get the chance to share and brainstorm your vision of your dream home with us.
Ideas
Let the fun begin!.. Time to start collecting all your favourite website pics and magazines cuttings… we encourage our clients to start a scrapbook and to create accounts with Houzz and Pinterest so you can save and share your favourite design pics. From structure, roofing, cladding, to bathroom ware and floor coverings. This helps Waikato Homes understand your vision and design sense prior to concept design stage
Concept Design
You have been busy with your scrapbook and ideas, now its time to meet our Architect to develop your design brief. From this session we will create a concept design of your new home and provide you with a cost estimate.
If you require further design meetings our Architect is flexible to make sure your new home is within your budget and scope
Let the good times roll
Once you are happy with your concept design and cost estimate, we will begin your working drawings (plans), and when complete will be ready for council and construction. You will also see the complete build layout of your new home which can be tweaked to suit. We arrange a time to meet with you on your building site to show how you home will be placed on your section.
Working Drawings
Upon receiving your full working drawings and specification, you will receive our Fixed Price Quotation and Addendum, which includes everything allowed for in your new home. We will also offer you a Master Build Guarantee, which for a small fee your will have 10 years of peace of mind on your new home. Once your have accepted our quotation, your plans will be lodged with Council.
Timeline
During time in council, we create a construction timeline, and schedule for our builders and sub-contractors. We will also set you up on our project software so you can keep up to date with progress, ask questions, view photos and much more throughout the entire build process.
Ready, Set, Go!
Your plans have been accepted and stamped by Council. Time to start excavations and foundations, an exciting time where you can see the footprint of your new home.
Build Time
Construction of your new home commences!, you will be kept informed with how building progresses, including regular site meetings with our project manager. Progress claims will be submitted throughout the building process for each stage eg: Floor down, ready for roof, joinery install, cladding completion etc.
Please note: If you have any questions about the construction of your new home you can contact us anytime you need.
Love your home
Upon completion your new home will be professionally cleaned, and then your home is ready for your pre move in inspection where we let you explore your new home. Once you are completely satisfied with everything, you will receive the keys to YOUR brand new home!
